Freelance Chatbot Developer (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord)

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance chatbot developer for its Tendem project. You will design, build and maintain conversational bots for WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord, integrating large language models and backend services. The role is part‑time, remote and focuses on delivering reliable, production‑ready messaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop bots for WhatsApp Business API / Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord and similar platforms.
• Design conversational flows, dialogue state management and fallback handling.
• Integrate bots with LLMs such as OpenAI or Anthropic for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs and third‑party APIs (booking, payment, content sources).
• Handle webhooks, rate limits and platform‑specific message formats (interactive messages, buttons, media, templates).
• Evaluate and refactor AI‑generated code to ensure correctness, reliability and graceful error handling.
• Implement logging, monitoring and recovery mechanisms to keep bots healthy in production.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation or bot development.
• Strong foundation in building production‑ready messaging bots and working with APIs, webhooks and backend services.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and pay attention to detail.
