Generator Winder – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

The Generator Winder is responsible for inspecting, repairing and maintaining the electrical and mechanical components of generator stator and rotor windings. Working under the Winding Work Leader, you will support the production of high‑performance power generators in a safe, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mechanical and electrical tooling, including stationary belt or disc sanders.
• Assist in taking and recording measurements of stator and field components using micrometers and dial calipers.
• Support fiberglass tapping operations.
• Set up tooling and parts as directed and perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Complete daily point‑of‑work risk assessments, safety observations and time reporting.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all environmental, health and safety policies.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the Winding Work Leader or GE Vernova.

Required profile

• High school diploma or technical college diploma with at least 2 years of classroom training in Industrial Maintenance and Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the power generator industry.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work rotating shifts.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, stand or walk up to 12 hours, lift up to 22 kg and pass required health evaluations.
• Capability to read and interpret technical instructions and comply with EHS policies.
