Legal Counsel – Corporate & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to join Huawei Telecommunications Algeria’s legal team in Algiers. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support to ensure compliance, manage disputes, and facilitate smooth commercial transactions across the company’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review a variety of legal documents, including summonses, subpoenas, complaints, and responses under the guidance of the Legal Director.
• Assist attorneys during trial proceedings by gathering evidence, preparing briefs, and tracking case progress.
• Conduct legal research, maintain communication with involved parties, and organize case files and archives.
• Maintain regular client updates and schedule depositions, arbitrations, and other meetings.
• Support compliance risk management by providing daily legal advice on regulatory matters.
• Review and support commercial transactions such as sales and procurement contracts, and coordinate documentation with suppliers, banks, and authorities.
• Verify information accuracy and follow up on payments related to legal matters.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within a corporate or telecommunications environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in law (or higher); a Master’s or higher qualification is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle confidential information.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
