Linux Specialist

About the role

The Linux Specialist will join AYRADE’s IT team in Oran, Algeria, to ensure the reliability, performance and security of the company’s Linux and Unix‑based infrastructure. This full‑time, on‑site position involves day‑to‑day system administration as well as participation in longer‑term infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and patch operating systems on physical and virtual servers.
• Monitor system health, performance and security, and respond to alerts.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, network and application issues.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support applications and optimise resource usage.
• Document configurations, procedures and changes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure improvements.

Required profile

• Strong Linux system administration experience, including installation, maintenance and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of operating‑system concepts and practical experience with Unix platforms.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for system, network and application problems.
• Experience with servers, storage, networking and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with security best practices, backup/recovery processes and performance tuning.
• Effective communication and ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience; certifications such as LPIC, RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
