Mechanical Engineer - Separator Internals Installation & Belzona Specialist

About the role

PowerPack Oil & Gas Services is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support a project in Algeria involving the installation of separator internals and associated mechanical works. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in vessel entry operations, supervision of installation activities and the application of Belzona products in oil and gas facilities. The role suits a hands-on professional who ensures safe, efficient and high-quality work while complying with client specifications, project requirements and site safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the installation of separator internals and related mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with vessel entry requirements, confined space procedures, permit-to-work systems and site HSE regulations.
• Lead and monitor installation crews so that work is performed safely and according to approved procedures.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and installation methods before work begins.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety observations.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during installation.
• Oversee the preparation, application and curing of Belzona products in line with manufacturer recommendations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, contractors and HSE personnel.
• Monitor progress, quality, schedule and deliverables, and prepare daily progress reports, inspection records and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience installing separator internals, vessel internals or similar process equipment.
• Hands-on experience applying and supervising Belzona products.
• Experience supervising mechanical installation, maintenance, turnaround or shutdown activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Previous project experience in Algeria is a strong advantage.
