About the role

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in Algeria is seeking a full‑time Accountant to work on‑site in Setif. The role focuses on recording, verifying and reporting financial transactions in line with public sector regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Record and validate financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and assist in budgeting and expenditure tracking.
• Reconcile accounts, monitor cash flow and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Prepare vouchers and invoices, and coordinate with other departments to collect financial data.
• Support internal and external audits by providing organized documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and ensure confidentiality of financial information.

Required profile

• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and perform account reconciliations according to public sector standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and office productivity tools (spreadsheets, word processing, database applications).
• Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and capability to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Knowledge of budgeting, expenditure tracking and basic financial analysis for departmental decision‑making.
• Understanding of Algerian financial regulations, public accounting procedures and internal control principles.
• Effective written and verbal communication in Arabic; French language skills are an asset.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; prior experience in government or public administration is advantageous.
