Mobile Software Engineer (iOS/Android SDK)
Storyteller
Job description
About the role
Storyteller is a high-growth B2B SaaS platform that lets companies integrate Stories into their own apps and websites, working with major sports and media brands. It is looking for a Mobile Software Engineer to join the team behind the native iOS and Android SDKs, embedding fast, interactive Stories into apps. The role is fully remote, based in Algeria, and pays up to EUR 20,000 per year on a full-time contractor contract.
You will work hands-on on real features used by customers, using AI tools by default to explore, scaffold and refactor, and you will own your work end-to-end without managing people.
Key responsibilities
- Build and ship features end-to-end: understand the problem, design a simple solution, build it (often with AI assistance), test it and refine based on feedback.
- Improve performance, reliability, release quality and developer ergonomics across the native SDKs and supporting services.
- Debug tricky issues across SDKs and customer integrations using logs and diagnostics.
- Work with Product and Delivery to understand real customer use cases and propose simple, pragmatic solutions.
- Streamline the integration experience so partners can get to "first story live" quickly and safely.
- Improve documentation, code examples and integration guides, and make small, continuous DX improvements such as tooling, scripts and templates.
- Use AI tools for exploration and refactoring, then verify outputs with tests and types, and participate in thoughtful code reviews.
- Help improve CI pipelines, test suites and dev scripts, and maintain ownership from idea to release.
Required profile
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience building production mobile apps or SDKs in Swift for iOS or Kotlin for Android.
- Strong knowledge of at least one native platform (iOS with Swift or Android with Kotlin), including modern frameworks and build tooling.
- Familiarity with APIs/HTTP, mobile app lifecycles, performance and automated testing.
- A proactive, AI-native working style, clear reasoning and strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
- Nice to have: experience building mobile SDKs, libraries or developer tools, cross-platform SDKs such as React Native, or open-source contributions.
Required skills
- Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android)
- APIs and HTTP
- Automated testing
Recruitment process
- Hiring manager conversation (20-30 mins, no coding).
- Paid take-home task (~60 mins).
- Review and CTO interview (60-75 mins).
