National Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to support the implementation and oversight of its projects and programmes in Algeria. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Project Development and Reporting Officer, the incumbent will work closely with regional M&E staff and headquarters units to ensure robust monitoring, data collection, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and adjust the overall Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework for projects, programmes, and strategies in coordination with programme managers and the Information Management unit.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reviews, impact assessments, real‑time monitoring reports, mid‑term and final evaluations, and lessons‑learned workshops.
• Ensure compliance of M&E arrangements with donor, UN and headquarters requirements.
• Supervise M&E support activities carried out by other staff to guarantee comprehensive coverage throughout project cycles.
• Oversee the proper use of IOM’s Project Information and Management Application (PRIMA) for monitoring, reporting and evaluation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects or programmes.
• Familiarity with donor and UN reporting standards.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including senior mission staff and regional officers.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using IOM’s Project Information and Management Application (PRIMA).
