Procurement Category Specialist

About the role

Baladna Dairy Farm Project in Adrar, Algeria, is looking for a Procurement Category Specialist. The role develops and executes category sourcing strategies to ensure the availability of goods and services needed by the project, optimizes costs, improves supplier performance, manages procurement risks and supports operations while complying with company policies. It is an office-based position with periodic travel to operational sites and supplier locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned categories, analyze spending patterns and monitor market trends, supplier capabilities and pricing
• Conduct category reviews and recommend sourcing improvements
• Lead RFQ, RFP and tendering activities, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate commercial terms and support contract development, execution and renewal
• Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers, maintain relationships with strategic suppliers, evaluate supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery and service issues
• Process procurement requests, issue purchase orders and contract documents on time, track order fulfillment and coordinate with internal stakeholders
• Support cost reduction initiatives, ensure compliance with procurement policies and delegated authority limits, keep accurate records and take part in audits
• Work with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Farm Operations, Maintenance and Logistics, and support cross-functional projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, category management or supply chain operations
• Experience in FMCG, agriculture, dairy, manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred
• Experience managing supplier negotiations and procurement contracts
• Fluent English (mandatory); Arabic and/or French preferred
