Production Section Head

About the role

The Production Section Head leads the operational, organizational and technical management of all production units, including manufacturing, packaging and internal logistics. The role ensures compliance with GMP standards, maintains resource availability and drives performance, quality, safety and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production units (preparation, manufacturing, packaging) and guarantee material, equipment and personnel availability.
• Optimize capacity, reduce downtime, oversee activities in line with approved procedures and GMP, HSE standards.
• Manage deviations, non‑conformities, batch records and documentation; lead internal audits and support regulatory inspections.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, Kaizen, SMED) and monitor KPIs, proposing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on CAPA, change controls and equipment qualification.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or Master’s in industrial pharmacy, chemistry, process engineering or related field.
• 6‑10 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX.
• Excellent leadership, decision‑making, analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment such as granulators, blister machines and tablet presses.
• Experience with GMP compliance, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• ERP proficiency (Microsoft Dynamics AX or equivalent).
• Continuous‑improvement methodologies: 5S, Lean, Kaizen, SMED.
