Project Assistant (Reintegration)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support its Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programmes in Algeria. Working under the Head of Programmes and the National Project Officer AVRR, the assistant will help returnees design and implement viable reintegration plans and ensure smooth coordination with partner missions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist returnees in creating individualized reintegration plans in line with AVRR guidelines.
• Provide information, virtual counselling, shelter arrangements, and family tracing for Algerian migrants wishing to return.
• Liaise with finance units for cash‑grant disbursements and with procurement for in‑kind assistance.
• Support the review and compliance of reintegration assistance plans with IOM financial rules.
• Maintain accurate records of assistance provided and coordinate with sending and receiving missions.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the Head of Programmes and the National Project Officer AVRR.
• Experience collaborating with multiple units and external partners in migration projects.
• Familiarity with AVRR programmes and reintegration processes.
