Project Control Manager

About the role

The Project Control Manager leads the organisation's project controls function, ensuring that projects are delivered within approved budgets while providing strategic financial oversight. This role develops, implements and maintains cost planning, forecasting, reporting and performance monitoring systems across the project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, establish and maintain comprehensive project budgets aligned with organisational financial objectives.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for all project phases and monitor expenditures against approved budgets.
• Produce periodic cost reports, dashboards and financial performance summaries for executive management.
• Analyse cost variances, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop financial forecasts, conduct earned‑value analysis and evaluate project profitability.
• Identify financial and commercial risks, develop mitigation strategies and manage change control related to scope, schedule and budget.
• Monitor contracts and subcontractor financial performance, ensure vendor compliance and support commercial negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, implement project controls standards and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Lead, mentor and develop the project controls team and manage stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project cost planning, budgeting and financial control.
• Strong background in forecasting, earned‑value analysis and performance measurement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate financial risks and manage change control.
• Experience overseeing contracts, procurement and vendor compliance.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance and audit requirements in a project environment.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring and stakeholder management.
