QA Functional Engineer

About the role

Ooredoo is strengthening its IT Quality Management function and seeks a QA Functional Engineer to ensure the quality of enterprise IT systems and applications. The role involves close collaboration with technical teams, business users, and project stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and functional specifications to design test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke and sanity tests according to the test plan.
• Record test results with evidence and document defects in Jira or a similar tool.
• Write detailed defect reports, track resolution progress and validate fixes.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and assist business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Maintain comprehensive testing documentation, including execution logs and defect evidence.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in software QA, functional testing or validation.
• Good understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail).
• Basic knowledge of SQL, API testing, Git and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and teamwork skills.
