Repair & Maintenance Technician II - Wireline

About the role

The Repair & Maintenance Technician II (Wireline) carries out hands-on inspection, repair and maintenance of wireline field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. The work covers the full process from receiving tools to dismantling, repairing and refurbishing them using technical manuals, procedures and work instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis, and report issues promptly.
• Maintain equipment, facilities and the work area in a safe and presentable condition.
• Repair machines, equipment and structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments and electrical or electronic testing devices.
• Inspect used parts for dimensional changes using calipers, micrometres and other measuring instruments.
• Follow maintenance procedures for unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checks, painting, assembly, loading and storage of tools, and complete the required documentation.
• Initiate, update and close out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists and work orders, and comply with the Work Order labour time log.
• Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks safely, and hold certification for forklifts and cranes.
• Accept incoming shipments, prepare outgoing shipments and order parts and supplies from catalogues or approved suppliers.
• Support LEAN initiatives and the continuous improvement programme, and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in repair and maintenance within wireline is essential.
• Fluent written and spoken English and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work in remote locations.
• Experience with Sondex tools is an advantage; experience working in Algeria is an advantage.
• Eligible to work in Algeria without a visa.
• High school diploma.
