Senior Commissioning Operator (DCS Panel)

About the role

The Senior Panel Operator is responsible for operating the Distributed Control System (DCS) panel to support pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up and ongoing operation of an oil and gas process plant. This position works closely with engineering, field teams and clients to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and verify Loop Check, Cause & Effect, Logic & Functional checks with E&I during pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Monitor and record high‑pressure leak testing parameters via DCS.
• Operate DCS panel to conduct machine test runs of rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps and fans.
• Run and supervise continuous or batch plant sections and vendor packages through the DCS.
• Support client during plant start‑up, performance testing and hand‑over.
• Continuously observe temperature, pressure, flow and level parameters, adjusting controls to maintain optimal conditions.
• Identify and resolve process abnormalities, initiate emergency shutdowns when required, and advise field operators.
• Maintain accurate logs of operating parameters, activities and incidents.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of HMI/DCS operation and control & emergency systems.
• Experience with plant systems, equipment operation and rotating‑equipment test runs.
• Ability to work closely with commissioning and field teams.
• High level HSSE awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
• Effective communication and accurate record‑keeping skills.
