Senior Commissioning Operator

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Operator to support pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities for plant and process systems. The role involves ensuring safety, quality and timely execution of work on site while coordinating with engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit permit‑to‑work documentation and ensure all safety precautions (pad locking, spading, LOTO) are in place.
• Monitor inspection and reinstatement of instrumentation and mechanical systems, performing static and dynamic checks according to commissioning procedures.
• Witness logic checks, verify instrument performance and guarantee optimal operation of equipment.
• Control the commissioning area, mark and barricade energized systems, manage access control and SIMOPS assessments.
• Lead a team of operators, monitor crew quality, and ensure work is completed within deadlines.
• Assist in preparing method statements, P&ID mark‑ups and Operating Test Procedures for pre‑commissioning and start‑up.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plant commissioning or pre‑commissioning within the energy or industrial sector.
• Ability to lead field teams, maintain safety standards and work under pressure to meet project schedules.
• Strong understanding of permit‑to‑work processes and LOTO implementation.
