Senior Planning Manager

About the role

The Senior Planning Manager will lead the planning function for large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining and reporting on detailed schedules, ensuring projects stay on track and meet contractual commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 or similar software.
• Prepare baseline schedules, progress updates, look‑ahead programmes and recovery schedules.
• Monitor project progress against approved baselines, identify delays, risks and areas of concern.
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for management, clients and stakeholders.
• Lead planning meetings and coordinate with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and subcontractors.
• Review contractor and subcontractor schedules, providing comments and recommendations.
• Support delay analysis, extension‑of‑time claims and contractual planning submissions.
• Identify critical paths, project milestones and key deliverables.
• Prepare progress dashboards, S‑curves, manpower histograms and resource‑loaded schedules.
• Ensure planning procedures and reporting standards are followed across the project.
• Provide guidance and support to junior planners and planning engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 10–15 years of planning experience in construction, infrastructure or large‑scale projects.
• Strong experience with Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Good knowledge of project controls, delay analysis, EOT claims and contract requirements.
• Excellent communication, reporting, leadership and coordination skills.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors and client representatives.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP or PMI‑SP are a plus.
