Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector in Algeria. The successful candidate will act as the technical reference for process design, overseeing FEED, Basic, and Detail Engineering phases and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the process engineering department for on‑shore facilities (off‑shore experience a plus).
• Develop and approve process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Heat & Material Balances.
• Size and select equipment such as separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
• Prepare and validate process datasheets, line lists, equipment lists, and utility consumption summaries.
• Conduct and support HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL sessions, as well as process safety and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with piping, electrical, instrumentation, safety, and other disciplines to maintain technical consistency.
• Provide advanced technical support during client, licensor, and supplier clarification meetings.
• Support construction, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities when required.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and contribute to internal standards and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or related engineering.
• 7‑10 years of process design experience in Oil & Gas or industrial plants.
• Proven experience leading and managing an engineering team in Algeria.
• Fluent technical English; Italian is a plus.

• Heat & Material Balances (H&MB).
• Equipment sizing for separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors.
• Process datasheet preparation and technical specification review.
• HAZID, HAZOP, SIL facilitation and process safety evaluation.
• Risk assessment methodology.
• Process simulation tools: Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, and ISO standards.
