Senior Structural Engineer, Data Centers – Remote

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Data Center practice. The role focuses on designing and analyzing large‑scale concrete and steel structures for hyperscale and colocation data center facilities, with the flexibility of remote work across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation projects.
• Develop design documentation for tilt‑up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and both deep and shallow foundations.
• Coordinate deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and calculations, guaranteeing code compliance and technical excellence.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications.
• Support business development activities, including proposal writing and conceptual studies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hyperscale and colocation data center facility design.
• Strong technical expertise in large‑scale concrete and steel structures.
• Track record delivering fast‑paced technology or industrial projects.
• Passion for advancing low‑carbon and resilient design strategies.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
