Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Shift Supervisor will direct day‑to‑day operations of the gas turbine, steam turbine, generator and auxiliary plant systems from the Central Control Room or field, ensuring safe and efficient performance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of gas turbine, steam turbine, generator and auxiliary systems from the CCR or field.
• Enforce site‑wide safety protocols, including LOTO, permit‑to‑work and emergency response coordination.
• Supervise plant operators and junior engineers, manage shift handovers and maximize team productivity.
• Monitor key plant metrics such as heat rate, output and emissions, and initiate corrective actions.
• Act as Incident Commander during equipment failures, fires or grid emergencies, executing SOPs for startup/shutdown.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent vocational/technical certification in power plant operations.
• Deep knowledge of combined‑cycle power plant processes, including gas turbine operation, steam systems, water chemistry and electrical distribution.
• Experience operating a Distributed Control System (DCS) such as Mark VIe or Ovation.
• Strong leadership, critical decision‑making under pressure and excellent communication skills.
