Summer Clerkship Program – Legal Internship

About the role

McDowell Knight is offering a Summer Clerkship Program that provides law students or recent graduates with a realistic view of the firm’s practice areas and the day‑to‑day responsibilities of an associate. Participants will work side‑by‑side with experienced lawyers on active matters while enjoying the unique lifestyle of Mobile, Alabama.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lawyers on ongoing cases, including legal research and drafting documents.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and trials to observe courtroom procedures.
• Participate in client meetings and support case preparation.
• Engage in firm‑wide social and recreational events to build professional networks.

Required profile

• Current enrollment or recent graduation from an accredited university.
• Field of study in political science, law, or a related discipline.
• Residency in Mobile or Baldwin County for the duration of the program.
