Technical Expert – Distributed Products

About the role

The Technical Expert – Distributed Products will be the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers and field service teams. You will deliver first‑line technical support, coordinate outage preparation and execution, analyse equipment performance, and assist field engineers in solving complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Tier 1 technical support for customers, Service Engineers and Field Service Representatives.
• Own technical issues and coordinate resolution with Product Competence Centers and engineering specialists.
• Develop and execute tailored outage plans based on equipment condition and fleet experience.
• Provide technical guidance during inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Monitor equipment availability and reliability by analysing operational performance, maintenance data, oil analysis reports, RDS alerts and diagnostic reports.
• Track and communicate technical bulletins, fleet advisories and engineering recommendations.
• Review Field Service Reports to ensure technical quality and consistency.
• Support project planning, overhaul preparation, risk assessments and repair recommendations.
• Contribute to proposal development, modernization initiatives and service opportunity identification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in field service, technical support, service engineering or maintenance engineering within an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
