Technical Service Engineer - IVD Laboratory Equipment

About the role

BioSystems, a global biotechnology company designing and manufacturing analytical solutions for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) laboratories, is looking for a Technical Service Engineer to join its Customer team in BioSystems Algeria. You will provide support, troubleshooting and maintenance for human health and IVD customers, optimise technical service operations and help maintain laboratory equipment used in medical analysis. The position is based in the Algiers area.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical laboratory equipment such as analysers, microscopes and automation systems.
• Support the installation of analysers.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with laboratory devices within required timeframes.
• Plan and coordinate on-site maintenance interventions with internal teams and suppliers.
• Ensure equipment complies with applicable safety and quality standards.
• Keep technical documentation and intervention records up to date.
• Train and support users on proper maintenance and usage.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure device performance and reliability.
• Build healthy relationships with clients on technical and commercial grounds.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or higher technical diploma (FP) in industrial, mechanical, electronic, biomedical, biotechnology or similar fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar Technical Service Engineer role.
• Strong knowledge of equipment used in medical analysis laboratories, such as biochemical analysers.
• Availability to travel; the candidate must be based in the Algiers area.
