Temporary Works Supervisor – Lifting

About the role

The company seeks a Temporary Works Supervisor specialized in lifting to oversee all heavy‑lift activities on site, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate with contractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve lifting plans, ensuring compliance with method statements and risk assessments.
• Conduct regular inspections of rigging gear and certify heavy‑lift equipment.
• Act as the competent person for lifting operations, with authority to stop work when safety is at risk.
• Coordinate with contractors, crane operators and site teams to manage movement of large components.
• Supervise site preparation, checking ground‑bearing capacity and matting for crane setups.
• Maintain a register of lifting certifications, operator licences and inspection logs.

Required profile

• 3–10 years of experience in heavy‑lift supervision, preferably in power generation or heavy industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of crane physics, load charts, centre‑of‑gravity calculations and complex rigging configurations.
• Relevant certifications such as CPCS Appointed Person, NCCCO or equivalent.
• Understanding of regional safety standards for cranes and derricks.
• Ability to lead pre‑lift briefings and coordinate multi‑discipline teams.
