Veterinary Technical Director

About the role

Baladna, implementing the Baladna Dairy Farm Project in Adrar, Algeria, is looking for a Veterinary Technical Director. The role oversees the technical and regulatory aspects of veterinary medicinal products, ensures compliance with Algerian regulations and coordinates regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, technical dossier assessment and continuing professional development for the company's veterinary teams. It calls for strong veterinary expertise and experience managing regulatory procedures with the Veterinary Services Directorate (DSV).

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Algerian legislation and regulatory requirements for veterinary medicinal products, prepare and follow up regulatory dossiers with the DSV, and advise internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate pharmacovigilance: collect and analyse suspected adverse reactions, assess risks, and prepare pharmacovigilance reports.
• Prepare technical assessment and expert reports on the safety and efficacy of veterinary medicinal products, review registration dossiers and respond to requests for additional information.
• Identify training needs of veterinary professionals, design and deliver training on regulations, pharmacovigilance and safe use of medicines, and monitor training effectiveness.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (mandatory).
• 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in the veterinary field.
• Proven experience preparing and following up regulatory dossiers with the DSV in Algeria.
• Strong knowledge of Algerian legislation on veterinary medicinal products.
• Preferred: experience in pharmacovigilance, technical report writing and training design; additional training in veterinary pharmaceutical regulations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Managing regulatory dossiers and procedures with the DSV.
• Reviewing scientific and technical documentation and writing technical assessment reports.
• Knowledge of pharmacovigilance principles and reporting requirements.
• Ability to develop and deliver technical training programmes.
