Workover Supervisor (28/28 Rotation)

About the role

AGR is recruiting, on behalf of an international client, a Workover Supervisor to join a 28/28 rotation for a long-term period. The supervisor is the company's on-site representative on the rig, responsible for making sure work is completed in line with procedures, the workover program, government regulations and HSE policy, while representing the company's interests and image.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all work is done efficiently, safely and in line with the approved drilling and completion manual, company practices, laws and regulations.
• Issue verbal and written instructions to the contractor toolpusher and service company representatives, monitor operations and discuss future plans with the Drilling Superintendent and Completion Engineer.
• Communicate with the Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Engineer, contractors and service companies on technical specifications; prepare a contractor evaluation form after each well.
• Conduct emergency drills and BOP drills, inspect tools and wellhead equipment, and check that equipment entering the hole is measured and the drill string length is known.
• Follow up on corrective actions, recommend cost and safety improvements, and prepare cost or breakeven analyses where applicable.
• Take part in completing program revisions, risk assessments and peer reviews, and document accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Monitor daily expenditures, maintain cost control records, coordinate equipment arrival, and liaise with civil works for platform availability.
• Prepare daily operational reports, work instructions, pressure test spreadsheets, cementing plug reports, tallies and BHAs, and hold daily morning meetings.
• Mentor local completion engineers, audit contractor certifications for well control, maintenance and safety weekly, and reward good performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience, including as an operator/contractor workover supervisor, with the last 5 years as day workover supervisor for an operator.
• Ability to supervise both drilling and completion operations; completion engineering and toolpusher experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse, remote and challenging environment, especially in the desert.
• Valid IWCF Well Control Level 4 (Supervisory) or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Landmark software "OPEN WELLS".
• Highly proficient English, written and spoken; knowledge of French and Arabic is an advantage.
• Drilling operations experience preferred.
