About the role
The Purchasing Officer will manage food inventory, orders, and cost calculations for the Marriott Hotel in Algiers. This full‑time, onsite position ensures accurate record‑keeping, compliance with food safety standards, and smooth vendor interactions.
Key responsibilities
- Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs.
- Maintain organized records, file reports and invoices, and post invoices using computer programs.
- Conduct inventory audits, complete requisition forms, and notify supervisors of low stock.
- Verify and track received inventory, reconcile shipping invoices, and process deliveries.
- Reject damaged or incorrect items and manage vendor return processes.
- Adhere to food safety policies, monitor PAR levels, and ensure proper handling.
- Report accidents, complete safety training, and follow company policies.
- Communicate professionally, answer phones, and maintain confidentiality.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related purchasing or inventory experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in varied physical environments.
