Business Controller – Algeria

About the role

Danone MENA is looking for a Business Controller to join its Maghreb Cluster, based in Algiers, Algeria. The role supports the Controlling Lead in budget management, distributor follow‑up and financial monitoring across Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Demand Planner and sales teams to build IMS‑based volume forecasts and bridge IMS to TMS, analysing drivers such as stock, pricing and FX impacts.
• Prepare country‑level profit & loss statements, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic initiatives.
• Participate in distributor contract reviews, covering payment terms, value chain and incoterms.
• Act as a strategic finance partner for Sales, Planning and Marketing teams across the Maghreb region.
• Coordinate and control budgets for advertising, trade promotions and other selling costs.
• Oversee topline controlling, variance analysis and net‑sales forecasting.
• Monitor distributor collections and customer accounts receivable in Morocco and Tunisia.
• Conduct SKU profitability analysis and manage trade promotions by distributor.
• Assist the Controlling Manager in maintaining a strong control environment, supporting year‑end statutory audits, internal audits and legal reporting.
• Propose and implement new business processes to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Graduation from a business school with a major in Finance or Accounting.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, CMA or equivalent).
• 4‑5 years of experience in a similar controlling role within a matrixed or multinational environment.
• Fluent in French (native) and English.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP).
• Strong financial planning and analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Data integrity and systems management.
