Cost Control Manager

About the role

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for safeguarding the financial health of projects by establishing, monitoring, and adjusting budgets. This role ensures accurate cost forecasting, tracks spending, and drives corrective actions to keep projects on budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project and departmental budgets aligned with organizational financial goals.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates that incorporate all potential expenses and risks.
• Continuously monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgeted amounts.
• Analyze cost variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective measures.
• Generate financial reports highlighting key metrics, trends, and issues for senior management.
• Implement and maintain robust cost‑control systems and procedures.
• Identify financial risks and devise mitigation strategies to avoid cost overruns.
• Review contracts for financial compliance and address cost‑related issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Support HSE initiatives and contribute to safety awareness activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in GCC markets is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Required skills

• Expertise in budgeting, cost estimation, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Understanding of contract terms and financial compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• ERP knowledge, preferably functional SAP skills.
