Elementary School Teaching Assistant

About the role

The American International School of Algiers is seeking a caring and energetic Elementary School Teaching Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year. You will work closely with classroom teachers to support young learners, help maintain a welcoming classroom environment, and contribute to each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing materials, learning centers, and classroom activities.
• Support whole‑class lessons and work with individuals or small groups under teacher guidance.
• Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and positive behavior management.
• Help supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and transitions.
• Provide additional help to students who need extra encouragement or academic support.
• Collaborate daily with teachers, specialists, and the Special Needs Coordinator.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school‑wide events.
