Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager oversees all engineering and maintenance operations for the Trust Complex Buildings in Algiers, ensuring safety, security and asset protection across the facility. This full‑time position is responsible for budgeting, capital projects, preventative maintenance and energy‑conservation initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, water‑treatment and related equipment.
• Develop and control the engineering budget, capital‑expenditure projects and energy‑conservation programs.
• Prepare specifications, negotiate and administer service contracts for building systems.
• Distribute, track and verify completion of preventive‑maintenance and repair work orders.
• Oversee grounds, guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, vehicles and recreational facilities.
• Plan and execute long‑term preventative‑maintenance and asset‑protection strategies.
• Coordinate renovation or new‑construction projects, obtain bids and supervise contractors to meet schedule and budget.
• Liaise with city building, zoning and fire‑prevention authorities and ensure fire‑crew readiness.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of engineering/maintenance experience, or an associate degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related field with at least 1 year experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical and plumbing systems.
