Import Coordinator

About the role

The Import Coordinator is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end import process, ensuring compliance with customs and banking requirements while guaranteeing timely shipment execution. Acting as the main liaison between suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, banks and internal finance teams, the role aims to minimise delays, penalties and extra costs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and verify all import documentation to meet customs regulations and banking procedures.
• Coordinate the availability of required documents before shipment arrival to avoid demurrage, detention and penalties.
• Monitor international payment processes, including Letters of Credit (LC), Documentary Remittance and bank transfers (TT), and follow up with suppliers and customs forwarders.
• Track shipments daily, monitor ETA, and resolve issues that could affect delivery timelines or costs.
• Provide regular updates on shipment status, documentation readiness, payment progress and potential risks.
• Support finance planning by forecasting import‑related payments such as supplier invoices, freight costs and customs duties.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in import operations, international trade, logistics or supply‑chain management.
• Master’s degree (M2) or equivalent (Bac +5) in engineering, logistics, finance or related field.
• Strong understanding of customs procedures and international payment methods.
