Instrument & Control Lead Engineer

About the role

JGC Algeria SPA is seeking an experienced Instrument & Control Lead Engineer to oversee instrumentation and control activities on site in Algiers. You will manage engineering deliverables, support technical issue resolution, and ensure compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering management, reporting and site surveys for instrumentation and control systems.
• Develop, update and review technical documents such as specifications, data sheets, drawings, hook‑ups, I/O lists, calculation notes and bills of material.
• Review documents prepared by other engineers, subcontractors and other disciplines (P&ID, cause‑and‑effect, 3D models).
• Evaluate supplier bids for field instruments, analyzers, control valves, ON‑OFF valves, PSV, throttle valves, control panels, skids and related equipment.
• Participate actively in HAZOP, WHAT‑IF and SIL safety sessions.
• Maintain knowledge of PC&C standards and ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent engineering qualification (e.g., Master 2, Ingéniorat, Bac+5/7).
• 6 – 10+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Proven expertise in PC&C, technical bid evaluation and safety studies (HAZOP, SIL).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on quality and compliance.
