IT Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated IT Teaching Assistant to join the British School Algiers team. In this full‑time position you will support the delivery of IT and Computer Science lessons, helping students acquire practical digital skills in a collaborative classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IT and Computer Science teacher during lessons and practical activities.
• Guide students with programming, web development and digital design tasks.
• Prepare and maintain classroom resources, equipment and computer labs.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to reinforce learning.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to the class teacher.
• Promote safe and responsible use of technology.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Fluent English, as lessons are delivered in English.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for technology and supporting student learning.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• HTML and CSS for website development.
• 3D design concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
