Movement Operations Assistant (Field Support)

About the role

The Movement Operations Assistant (Field Support) provides essential on‑the‑ground assistance for migration‑related movements, ensuring smooth processing of individuals at airports, transit centres, camps and other field locations. Working under the supervision of senior movement staff, the role contributes to safe, orderly, and humane migration operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver field support in assigned locations such as airports, transit centres, third‑party facilities, camps or sub‑offices.
• Provide custodial care of travel documentation, verify identities, visas, exit permissions and tickets.
• Assist with airport formalities including check‑in, luggage handling, immigration procedures, security screening and customs clearance.
• Escort arriving individuals to ground transportation and departing individuals to departure gates, confirming flight departures visually.
• Support persons with special needs or equipment, ensuring appropriate assistance.
• Send notifications through relevant systems as required.
• Manage arrival processes at transit centres: sign‑in, identity verification, orientation, distribution of food and non‑food items, and room assignments.
• Provide briefings, instructions, activity coordination and issue resolution during stays.
• Facilitate departures for medical appointments, return travel or onward journeys.

Required profile

• Ability to perform field support activities under the guidance of senior movement staff.
• Strong attention to detail for handling documentation and verification processes.
• Capacity to work in dynamic, multi‑cultural environments and assist individuals with diverse needs.
