Project Architect – Algiers Chancery Facade Replacement

About the role

The position serves as the Project Architect for the Algiers Chancery Facade Replacement, overseeing all architectural and construction quality assurance activities. You will work on‑site for a 12‑month contract, ensuring the project meets U.S. standards, contract specifications, and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical inspections of architectural elements and verify compliance with design documents.
• Monitor the contractor’s quality control and safety programs, and issue corrective actions as needed.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and coordination documents across disciplines.
• Track construction progress against the project schedule and produce weekly progress reports with recommendations.
• Prepare detailed construction reports, evaluate contractor remedies, and propose solutions to the Project Director/Construction Manager.
• Develop Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and support cost control.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural oversight of large‑scale façade or building renovation projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, design narratives, and engineering calculations.
• Ability to identify non‑compliance issues on‑site and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Familiarity with U.S. construction standards and acceptable products/procedures.
