Technical Manager - RTU

About the role

The Technical Manager – RTU leads a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and SCADA solutions. You will ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and safety standards while supporting client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project execution across hardware and software domains, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Report team loading and progress to the Engineering Manager on a monthly basis.
• Supervise creation and continuous improvement of design documentation.
• Oversee installation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Prepare monthly activity reports and review weekly progress reports from team leaders.
• Maintain and enhance coding and quality standards for all technical activities.
• Coordinate staffing plans, hiring needs, and training initiatives.
• Collaborate with Presales, QC, and HSE teams to ensure technical, quality, and safety compliance.
• Assign subject‑matter experts for each product line and manage knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Communication Engineering.
• 13–15 years of experience in RTU/SCADA/Power Automation engineering.
• At least 5 years in a managerial role with proven leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in RTU hardware.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus communication protocols.
• Experience integrating RTU solutions with SCADA systems.
• Proven delivery of large‑scale automation projects in utility, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
