Ambassador for Open Access in GEM Countries (Remote Volunteer)

About the role

Indexall Data is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to act as ambassadors for open‑access publishing in GEM‑eligible countries. You will represent the company remotely, helping local publishers adopt Crossref identifiers and improve their journal workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Assist publishers in GEM countries to register DOIs and ORCIDs for their articles.
• Guide journals on setting up and managing Open Journal Systems (OJS) platforms, editorial workflows, and metadata.
• Support Crossref/GEM application processes, plagiarism checks, and indexing activities.
• Promote Indexall services through social media, blog posts, webinars, local events, or conferences.
• Build relationships with journal editors, universities, and researchers to encourage adoption of open‑access standards.
• Provide feedback to the Indexall team to improve support for the community.

Required profile

• Based in, or having strong ties to, a GEM‑eligible country.
• Passion for open access, scholarly publishing, and equitable science.
• Good communication and networking abilities; public speaking and social‑media experience are a plus.
• Interest or experience in journals, research libraries, or academic publishing.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Required skills

• Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform knowledge.
