Assistant - Pastry Shop

About the role

CML – The Dough House is a modern pastry and coffee concept in Oran, Algeria, known for homemade-style cookies, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cheesecakes and pastries, with a signature fresh cookie dough. It is looking for a full-time, on-site Assistant to support daily shop operations. The role requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, take orders and handle payments
• Maintain a clean and organized environment
• Help prepare and present pastries and beverages under the guidance of the kitchen and barista teams
• Restock supplies and manage basic inventory tasks
• Collaborate with the team to provide friendly, efficient service

Required profile

• Customer service and communication skills, able to interact warmly and professionally with diverse guests
• Basic food handling and preparation skills, with attention to hygiene, safety and product quality
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and keep the workspace tidy
• Teamwork and reliability, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues during busy periods
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift light to moderate weights and work in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in a café, bakery or retail environment is an advantage but not required
• Basic proficiency in local languages; additional languages are a plus
