Feed Lead

About the role

The Feed Lead will manage daily operations of the feed production unit, ensuring the herd receives optimal nutrition through precise ration formulation, feeding schedules, and inventory control. This role supports senior nutrition and farm leadership by driving feed efficiency and animal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in improving overall performance and efficiency of the feed production unit.
• Collaborate with farm management and nutrition specialists to develop optimal herd nutrition strategies.
• Prepare and deliver rations according to established schedules and policies.
• Lead, supervise, and develop feed unit staff, fostering teamwork.
• Monitor daily feeding operations to meet nutritional requirements.
• Maintain accurate data and inventory records using ERP systems.
• Identify and report safety hazards, ensuring compliance with protocols.
• Enforce animal welfare guidelines and promote sustainable feed practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in feed production or animal nutrition.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Understanding of health and safety practices in feed environments.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of dairy cattle nutrition and ration formulation.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP for data and inventory management.
