Head of Research & Innovation (R&D) – Algeria

About the role

The Head of Research & Innovation (R&D) for Danone Algeria will drive the local R&I agenda, turning global and regional strategies into actionable plans that deliver business value. This senior position combines scientific leadership, business influence, and execution excellence to ensure product superiority, regulatory compliance, and economic feasibility in a constrained market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the research and innovation agenda for Danone Algeria, translating global and EMEA strategies into robust local action plans.
• Ensure product superiority across quality, nutrition, taste, and performance while meeting regulatory standards.
• Act as the scientific reference for the country, guiding consumer‑centric, science‑based decision making.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders to drive renovation, productivity, and affordability.
• Oversee feasibility studies, industrial execution, and compliance with complex regulatory environments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Food Science, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Nutrition, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in FMCG research & innovation or product development.
• Proven track record leading cross‑functional projects in matrix organisations.
• Experience navigating complex industrial and regulatory settings.
• Influential leadership style with strong business orientation and clear communication.
