About the role
The Mainframe Solution Architect will lead the design of end‑to‑end mainframe infrastructure solutions for client proposals and bids. You will work closely with customers to understand their existing IT landscape and business goals, crafting tailored on‑premise, cloud, or hybrid mainframe architectures.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the definition of mainframe solution frameworks within client proposals and bids.
- Analyse client requirements, current IT environments, and business objectives to design custom mainframe solutions.
- Evaluate integration options for mainframe systems with broader technology ecosystems.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance for mainframe modernization initiatives such as re‑hosting, refactoring, re‑platforming, and rewriting.
- Support presales activities by presenting solution designs and value propositions to stakeholders.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Full‑time, permanent employment preference.
- Extensive experience with mainframe environments and solution architecture.

- COBOL, JCL, PL/I, Assembler, REXX, Natural, RPG
- DB2 for z/OS, IMS DB, VSAM, Adabas
- CICS, IMS TM, z/OS, z/VM, zLinux
- MQ, WebSphere
- IBM Debug Tool for z/OS, Syncsort, SPUFI, ChangeMan, Endevor
- CA‑7, ESP, Control‑M (job schedulers)
