Onsite Service Engineer – Proton Therapy (Oslo)

About the role

We are looking for an Onsite Service Engineer to join the Proton Therapy Service Team at Oslo University Hospital – Radiumhospitalet. The role supports the operation of a state‑of‑the‑art proton therapy system, an advanced cancer‑treatment technology that uses a particle accelerator to precisely target tumours while sparing healthy tissue.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service high‑tech medical equipment in a live clinical environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work hands‑on with mechanical, electronic and electro‑mechanical components.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot faults and keep equipment operational during clinical hours.
• Collaborate with the onsite clinical team and provide shift coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technician qualification in a relevant field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, e.g., experience with vacuum pumps or electric motors.
• Knowledge of electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
