Senior Accountant

About the role

Eurl Hamadou Azzedine, an Algerian importer of electrical and electronic equipment founded in 2004, is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Algiers, responsible for general ledger management, financial statements and period-end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and prepare financial statements
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable and reconcile bank and supplier accounts
• Ensure accurate recording of import-related transactions, duties and taxes
• Maintain compliance with Algerian accounting standards and tax regulations, support audits and implement internal controls
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting support and forecasting to management

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in general accounting, including ledger management, financial reporting and period-end closing
• Experience with tax compliance and regulatory filings, and familiarity with Algerian accounting and tax regulations
• Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, perform reconciliations and track import costs and inventory values
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams
