Steward - Hotel Housekeeping Support

About the role

Le Méridien in Oran, Algeria, is hiring a Steward (Utility Cleaner) to support hotel functions such as the kitchen, food and beverage and laundry. The role covers preparing clean linen and dining ware, operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and moving dishware and linens around the hotel. It is a full-time, non-management position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fresh clean linen and spotless dining ware for guests
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, linen washers and dryers
• Transport dishware and linens across the hotel
• Follow company policies and procedures, uphold quality standards and keep a safe workplace
• Maintain professional appearance and communication, and build positive working relationships with colleagues and departments
• Support the team to reach common goals and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager
• Move, lift, carry, push and pull objects of up to 50 pounds, stand, sit or walk for long periods, and reach overhead and below the knees

Required profile

• No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required
• No license or certification required
