Lead Mechanical Steam Turbine Field Engineer

About the role

The Lead Mechanical Steam Turbine Field Engineer (Level III) will direct on‑site activities for power‑generation customers, ensuring installation, maintenance and calibration of steam turbine equipment meet contractual and safety requirements. This senior field role combines technical expertise with resource planning and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and monitor labor, tools and technical assistants for site projects.
• Perform on‑site installation, preventive maintenance, repair and calibration of steam turbine systems.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and provide rapid troubleshooting.
• Deliver technical instruction to customer representatives on operation, calibration and maintenance.
• Prepare and submit technical reports, job status updates, material orders, quotations, timesheets and expense sheets.
• Sign off all changes, ensure compliance with GE safety standards and drive customer satisfaction.
• Coach, mentor and train team members in field engineering practices.
• Conduct walk‑downs and verify that all required parts are shipped to the site.

Required profile

• Completed Level III competencies for field engineering.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work within defined decision parameters.
• Proven experience in managing site activities for power‑generation equipment.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and team mentorship.
