People Director – Algeria

About the role

Knauf Algeria is seeking an experienced People Director to lead the country’s HR agenda. Reporting to the General Manager and the Regional Chief People Officer, you will translate global people strategy into local actions while ensuring compliance with Algerian labor law.

Key responsibilities

• Act as HR business partner and coach to senior leadership, shaping the annual People Roadmap.
• Identify capability gaps, propose structural solutions, and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Drive talent acquisition, employer branding, and workforce planning for manufacturing and corporate functions.
• Ensure alignment with Knauf’s core values, behaviors, and leadership standards across all levels.
• Oversee compliance with local labor legislation and implement global HR policies.

Required profile

• Proven track record in senior HR leadership within a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong advisory and coaching skills for senior executives.
• Ability to translate strategic HR initiatives into operational results.
• Excellent understanding of Algerian labor regulations.
