About the role
The Rake Operator works on a paving crew under the supervision of the foreman and site supervisor. You will travel to various sites across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area to help finish asphalt paving projects safely and to a high standard of workmanship.
Key responsibilities
- Rake and adjust freshly laid asphalt surfaces to ensure a smooth, even finish.
- Collaborate with other crew members to complete assigned paving tasks on schedule.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or issues to the foreman.
- Adapt to flexible shift patterns, including days, evenings and nights as required.
Required profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing asphalt raking or similar paving tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts throughout the season.
- Availability to travel to multiple job sites within the Toronto/GTA region.

What we offer
- Hourly rate of $46.45 CAD (trainee rate may be graduated).
- Unionized position with Local 183.
- Seasonal full‑time employment from April/May to December, with additional snow‑removal work in winter.
