Young Professional – Independent Evaluation Office

About the role

The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the New Development Bank is seeking a Young Professional to support its evaluation activities. This full‑time position is based in Shanghai and offers a four‑year fixed‑term contract, providing hands‑on experience in project evaluation, data analysis, and knowledge sharing within a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse data on project progress, loan disbursements, management costs and financial performance.
• Compile external data on social, demographic and macro‑economic indicators at national and sub‑national levels.
• Prepare synthesis reports, benchmarking analyses and bibliographies for evaluations.
• Support the preparation of evaluation reports by tabulating, analysing and visualising data, and drafting report sections.
• Create PowerPoint presentations summarising evaluation findings and draft speaking points for supervisors.
• Assist in organising evaluation missions, knowledge‑sharing seminars and related activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in development economics, economics, evaluation, management sciences, international relations, business administration, data management, statistics or a related field.
• Nationality from a New Development Bank member country is encouraged.
• Willingness to relocate to Shanghai, China.
