ADMS System Engineer

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for an ADMS System Engineer in Algiers to build and maintain the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) network model for an electricity customer. The engineer works on site with the customer's GIS, network and operations teams and with regional ADMS experts, turning the customer's GIS and asset data into a validated, operational model, supporting FAT/SAT and go-live, and training the customer's modelling staff so the model stays sustainable after handover. The role has some autonomy but focuses on executing within established delivery practices.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the ADMS network model (substations, feeders, switching devices, transformers and protection devices) from the customer's GIS and asset data, running initial and incremental model imports.
• Validate network connectivity, topology, phasing and electrical parameters, and resolve data-quality issues with the customer's GIS and network teams until closed.
• Map SCADA/RTU points to model objects and maintain one-line, schematic and geographic displays.
• Prepare and validate application data for DMS functions (load flow, FLISR, Volt/VAR optimization) and OMS (customer-to-transformer mapping, crews and devices).
• Support FAT/SAT, cutover and go-live, and post-go-live model maintenance, and train the customer's modelling staff.
• Own assigned technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle and work with regional ADMS experts, project management and the customer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or master's in electrical engineering, electronics, automation and control, industrial computing or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in distribution network modeling, GIS, SCADA/ADMS/DMS, network planning tools or related utility software.
• Fluent French and working English; legal authorization to work in Algeria.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across Algeria and occasionally abroad for training and collaboration.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of distribution network topology and equipment and power system fundamentals (load flow, phasing).
• Hands-on GIS experience (ArcGIS, Smallworld or QGIS) and data formats (CIM/XML, shapefiles).
• SQL, Excel or scripting for data transformation and validation.
• Desired: ADMS/DMS/OMS model build tools, Python or SQL scripting, software implementation or system integration experience.
